Privacy Notice
Updated October 2026
Information reaches us when you fill in the contact form, call or e-mail, and it serves your request.
The website sets no advertising or analytics cookies.
Ask us about your information at any time, and opt out of sale or sharing if you wish.
We run this site from Cuyahoga Falls
The business that owns and runs botzumplumbing.com is Botzum Plumbing, based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Whether you use the site, phone us or e-mail us, the practices described below apply to the information you give us.
We collect what you send us
When you complete the contact form, we receive what you type into it:
- a description of the job;
- your name, phone number and e-mail address;
- where the job is or its ZIP code, if the form has a field for it.
If you call or write, we make a note of what you tell us and keep anything you send, such as photographs. Separately, our hosting provider’s servers log a few technical details each time a page is opened: the IP address and browser, plus the page and the time. These records help keep the site secure and up and running.
We keep a copy of each chat
We record every chat on the site. A record includes the messages you write, including a name, an e-mail or a phone number if you give one, and the job you describe; the page you were on and the website you arrived from; an approximate location based on your internet address; the device and browser you are using; and a random code your browser keeps for the chat so that your chats can be told apart. The chat may be answered by an automated assistant, for which the chat’s providers process your messages. The record is there so we can answer you, get your work booked and make the chat better.
We keep cookies to a minimum
Advertising and analytics cookies are not used here. A strictly necessary cookie for security may be set by our host, and the host may also tally visits without using cookies at all. Those numbers are anonymous totals of page views.
We use information for the work you ask for
We use what you send for the job at hand: replying, scheduling, doing the work and following up. The same information also serves the record keeping every business does, the security of this website and meeting legal obligations.
Some details go to those who help us
Some of your information is handled by the providers behind this website, our e-mail and the request system. Some goes to service partners who help with the reply or carry out the work. Some could also be disclosed if the law requires it, or to protect the rights or safety of any person, including ours.
Opting out of sale or sharing
Several state privacy laws, including California’s, give residents an opt-out right. It covers two things, the “sale” of personal information and its “sharing,” in the sense each of those laws gives them.
Send requests to devin@botzumplumbing.com or make them by phone at (330) 548-2855. One sentence will do, for example: “Please opt me out of the sale or sharing of my personal information,” followed by your name and the phone or e-mail you gave us before, which is how we find your records. You pay nothing and need no account.
Expect a confirmation from us, and we will honor the request within the time allowed by law. We keep our questions to the minimum that finding your records takes.
Someone else can make the request for you. An authorized agent may do so when they hold permission you have signed.
Global Privacy Control also works: where the law requires it, a browser that sends the signal is treated as having asked to opt out.
Botzum Plumbing will not charge you more or serve you any differently because you opted out.
You can ask what we hold about you
Three requests are open to you whenever you like:
- to find out what information about you we keep;
- to have it corrected if it is wrong;
- to have it deleted.
Make them by e-mail to devin@botzumplumbing.com or by phone at (330) 548-2855. We may first confirm your identity, and nobody is treated differently for making a request.
We keep it only as long as we need it
Nothing is kept forever. As soon as your information is no longer needed for the request, the job, our records or a legal requirement, we delete it.
We protect it with reasonable safeguards
We take reasonable precautions to keep information safe from loss, misuse and prying eyes. Any system can fail, however, and no one can guarantee perfect security.
Our site is not intended for children
This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
We date every update
Whenever we update this notice, we change the date at the top. That date always marks the current version.
