About Botzum Plumbing

A Cuyahoga Falls plumbing company started in 2006 and still run by its founder.

Botzum Plumbing works in Cuyahoga Falls and the Summit County towns around it: Akron, Stow, Tallmadge and Munroe Falls. Most of the work is in older single-family houses, along with rental units, duplexes and small commercial spaces. The calls range from a clogged toilet or a dripping shutoff valve to a sewer camera inspection, a repipe or a new bathroom rough-in.

Devin Lewis

Devin’s first plumbing job was helping dig out a collapsed sewer line behind an old house, hauling cast iron pipe and coming home filthy. That was when Devin knew this was the work to do. In 2006 Devin started Botzum Plumbing in Cuyahoga Falls and still manages the company today.

A typical week begins with scheduling and ordering parts. Most days after that, Devin is out on service calls, mostly water heaters, leaking supply lines and slow drains. Fridays go to estimates and paperwork.

Before leaving any job, Devin runs the water at every fixture that was touched and wipes each connection with a dry paper towel to make sure nothing is weeping.

How Every Job Is Checked

Much of what matters happens after a repair looks finished, and Devin expects the work to be checked this way before anyone leaves:

  • Water pressure tested with a gauge, and every fixture run to check flow.
  • A new supply line pressure-tested, with the gauge watched before any wall is closed.
  • On a water heater, the temperature, the venting and the relief valve checked.
  • After a drain job, water run long enough to confirm the line clears.
  • Under sinks and around shutoffs, a look for slow seepage.

The Work We Do

Most of our calls are for drain cleaning, water heater replacement, leak repair, clogged toilets, sump pump installation, and fixing or replacing faucets, garbage disposals and shutoff valves. We also handle sewer line camera inspections, repiping, and new bathroom and kitchen rough-ins, all part of our plumbing services.

Older houses bring their own puzzles: a mix of galvanized, copper and plastic pipe from several decades of repairs, clay or cast iron sewer laterals, and basements where the water heater, the main shutoff and the floor drain have been in the same corner since the house was built. That is the kind of plumbing we work on every week.
